Honored ContributorIn addition to that tutorial, I'd recommend reading the QSYS related chapters of the Quartus handbook. You can use the templates QSYS provides for signals. There are also bus models available if you would like to simulate Avalon peripherals. It's useful to learn about Avalon. It is similar to the AXI etc used in ARM components, but Avalon is simpler.
