HSMC-DVI adapter

I'm using a Terasic HSMC-DVI adapter(http://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?language=english&categoryno=68&no=359&partno=1) in conjunction with a Stratix IV FPGA(TR4 development kit).

I'm wondering is anyone else has used the HSMC-DVI adapter. If so, is there is any way to display a gray scale image on the monitor.
