just putted uboot kernel and filesystem on the cyclone 5 machne.. i am wandering how can i start working with the FPGA? should i download software (e.g Quartus)? or are there other alternatives?? thanks!!

Honored ContributorAltera FPGA generally will need Quartus II software to work with. You can download the Quartus II software from https://www.altera.com/downloads/download-center.html. There are web edition (free) and subscription edition (paid). Subscription edition will provide compilete feature of Quartus II.
