Getting pins on the block of the block tool

When making a design using the top down approach I may use the block tool. In order to do this after placing a block on the screen using the block tool I can goto properties and add the input/output signals there which shall appear on the table on the block on the schematic.

The question I have is that after having written the input/output signals on the table, how do I get the actual pins to connect this block to other blocks? The type of pins I would get if I was to goto File-> Create/Update-> Create symbol Files for Current file; for a schematic??
