EP3C16Q240 Cost

Hey,

We are planning to realize one of our product with EP3C16Q240C8N. Since this being a low power device that suits our hand held device, we are very much interested in using it. More over, this FPGA also supports all the other things we are looking for. But only the pricing of this chip seems to be quite high $$.$USD ! Which is 75% the budget of our end product :-(

My colleagues say that, when we buy the part in bulk [hundreds or thousands] the cost will come down. But, I am not sure on how much the price will reduce

Can any one tell me by how much percentage will the final price get reduced? Is this really advisable for me to take up this fpga for my work?

Please advice. I am technical guy and new to the sourcing industry.

Cheers,

Madhi

You need to talk to your Altera sales rep. They can give you budgetary pricing. Nobody here is allowed to discuss pricing. Altera would be extremely upset if we were to all start sharing what we pay for certain products.
