eMMC version for Agilex 5 FPGA Soc

Good day,

Can I use an eMMC 5.0 device with the Agilex 5 FPGA? I will connect the eMMC to the HPS.
The guide states that eMMC 5.1 must be used, but is it backwards compatible?

    Yes, Agilex-5 eMMC 5.1 is backward compatible with older standards.
