I was referring to the above discussion about omitting the division, if the signal magnitude is constant. Generally it isn't constant. Automatic scaling still leaves an 1:2 amplitude variation. So if you require the demodulated signal to be scaled correctly, you either should use the division or somethink like ADC. I don't want to suggest a particular implementation, cause a suitable design depends on the overall system structure.
