10 years agoI'm unaware of any Altera 'guidelines'. I can offer feedback we received from another vendor to whom we put the same question when we were seeing temperatures of over 90 degrees. The part in question is a little older than Arria 10 and manufactured on a 40nm process. However, I suspect the guidance is still valid.
The datasheet for the part in question states an 'Operating Junction Temperature, Maximum' of 110 degrees C. They told us the device will operate quite happily anywhere under that maximum. So, providing we could manage the temperature accordingly all would be well. We ended up going to market with the product (which is on 24hr/day), about 3 years ago, managing the temperature to 85 degrees under load (10-30% of the time) and around 65 degrees at all other times. Cheers, Alex
