Cyclone II image not loading

Hello-

We are using an EP2C8Q208N (208-QFP) on a custom board, but also the DE2 development board. The problem we are having is that when downloading code to the board from NIOS IDE (using JTAG), we get the following error:

"there are no nios ii cpus with debug modules available which match the values

specified. please check that your pld is correctly configured, downloading a

new sof file if necessary."

After searching around a few forums, we think we have issolated the problem, but aren't exactly sure how to fix it. We can successfully download hardware configuration code to the FPGA from Quartus, but like I said, when we try to download any software code using NIOS IDE, we get the above error. After programming the .sof file into the device then running the following command from the Nios II command shell:

jtagconfig -n

We should see:

1) usb-blaster [usb-0]

020b40dd ep2c8

node 11104600

node 0c006e00

Instead, all we get is:

1) usb-blaster [usb-0]

020b40dd ep2c8

From this, we have determined that our image isn't in the PLD.

If anyone has any sugestions, any help is appreciated.
