Connecting 16 bit sdr sdram to ep3c25-144

Hi,

i'd like to connect 16 bit memory to the ep3c25 in tqpf144 package. This only has support for two 8x memory ports. Am i right that this limitation is only for ddr ram and up? Can i connect the 16 sdr data lines of my 16 bit sdr sdram to any io?

And other sdr sdram based designs i've seen connect the sdram clock to a dedicated clkout pin. I assume this is generally a good idea. Or is this even a must?

Thanks,

MoG

Yes, 8x port is only for DDR and up. You can easily connect SDRAM to that FPGA. CLKOUT pin isn't a must, it's just near PLL, so it'll be better to meet timing stuff.
