channel lid vs dual-piece lid

Stratix III and IV packages are described as being either dual-piece lid or channel lid packages. The only difference I can see from the information on the Altera web site is that the channel lid package is slightly taller than the dual-piece lid package. Does anyone know where I might find more detail information about the structure of these two different packages?
