Can i connect the avalon mm slave/master signals to the off-chip peripheral?

Can i connect the avalon mm slave/master signals to the off-chip peripheral?

if it can, what should i do?(from example, slave interface has separated readdata input and writedata output bus, so i should creat a bridge to switch them into a bri-direction data bus to the off-chip peripheral?)
