What exactly happens when an Avalon bursting master is connected to a non-bursting slave? How does the slave receive the correct addresses for the burst?

http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/qts/qts_qii5v4_01.pdf the burst adapter generates the correct address for each request to the slave, and buffers the burst data as needed.
