Are there any appearance differences in EP3C40F780C8N with respect to PCN1205?

I read the notification document and it states this part will transition to center pin gate mold after date code 1249. But my device with date code 1325 shows no difference with those products before PCN..

    Looking at:

http://www.altera.com/literature/pcn/pcn1205.pdf page 5, there is a visual difference.

Either your device was already had a Center Pin Gate mold, or they have not made their 1249 cut off.

Page 5 shows a pretty clear difference in the mold type. Looking at a Cyclone V with date code of 1313 it has the center pin gate mold packaging.

Does it mean only material changed can be distinguished using the date code 1249 and Center Pin Gate mold transition schedule is not confirm?

    Thanks.

I'm not directly employed by Altera, so I don't know the specifics on this particular changeover. But I could see where they would start with the newest families first and work their way back.

The document I posted implied that the first Center Pin Gate production parts would be seen in December of 2012, but didn't state they transition would necessarily be completed by then. If you have production concerns about it, I would contact your local Altera Rep to get a complete story on it.
