Customization of Boot image for DE1SOC cyclone 5 SOC board

I'm setting kernel version as 4.14.126 but it is getting set as 4.2.4.14.126 Using Buildroot for customizing image

Can you please share some training material for DE1SOC board, for using the hps side peripherals. Also I'm facing issues in launching ds5/eclipse in linux, can you help with it.
