Comparison between NIOS II and dual processor Cortex A9 ARM

Hi all,

I have to design, an acquisition chain and do the data processing on FPGA, so i'm quite hesitant between using ARM or NIOS for the design, I know that ARM is a hardcore and NIOS is a softcore, but for more speed, high precision , what is the most optimized processor ?

thank you all

Hi, NIOS II gives you the flexibility of having multi core (2,3,4,..) and to connect them with peripherals, supports you with the required HAL drivers. The ARM is a hardcore device which you can achive it's performance by having FPGA-SoC device to get the best of two worlds. I recommend you to use one of the FPGA-SoC devices that have FPGA with ARM processor on-chip. Regards.
