7 years agoComparison between NIOS II and dual processor Cortex A9 ARM
Hi all, I have to design, an acquisition chain and do the data processing on FPGA, so i'm quite hesitant between using ARM or NIOS for the design, I know that ARM is a hardcore and NIOS is a softco...

7 years agoHi,
NIOS II gives you the flexibility of having multi core (2,3,4,..) and to connect them with peripherals, supports you with the required HAL drivers. The ARM is a hardcore device which you can achive it's performance by having FPGA-SoC device to get the best of two worlds. I recommend you to use one of the FPGA-SoC devices that have FPGA with ARM processor on-chip.
Regards.
