Re: Device support file for EPM7128BUC49
Hi Fakhrul So Intel makes a device that it is impossible to create a programming file for? Wow how messed up is that. So my options are: Use a physically larger device that takes up more board space and has more pins that I don't need but at least I can currently buy it. Design it for a MAX V or MAX 10 and then wait for Intel to decide to actually ship some of these devices to distribution so I can buy some. Who knows when that will be. Out of interest I visited the Digikey website this morning and searched for EPM7128 devices. Of the 161 devices listed 35 are in stock Of those 35 devices there were 6 that had footprints that are not supported by Quartus 13.1 3 are BGA 49 pin 2 are PLCC 84 pins 1 is 160pin QFP (although that one is ridiculously expensive)1.1KViews0likes1CommentMAX700B UFBGA device file in Quartus 13.1
I'm developing a new board that we need to get into production (not massive quantities) in the next few weeks. I'd happily use one of the newer MAX devices (e.g. MAX V) if I could buy any......... I don't need masses of gates a quick build of the logic indicates around 72 macrocells are required. I don't need loads of pins (about 24) so a 100 pin device is exceptionally wasteful. So I looked at my suppliers stock and found the EPM7128BUC49 which is a MAX700B device with 128 Macrocells in a UFBGA 49 pin package. It's available in sufficient quantity for the current build quantity requirements. We'll update to a later device in slow time when the current urgent requirement has gone away. To be able to build for the MAX700B series I've had to go back to Quartus 13.1 (that's the latest version that supports MAX7000 devices). I then set the device family to MAX700B, set the footprint to UFBGA but the only pin count available is 169 pins. Where is the 49 pin option. Is there a later version of the max_web-13.0.1.232.qdz file that includes this device. Any suggestions appreciated. Kevin723Views0likes1CommentDevice support file for EPM7128BUC49
