You are right, I do have a fixed-node license. I never use more than one computer at a time because all of them are in different locations. Unfortunately, generating a companion license for my home computer is not possible. I also tried to do the same (generate companion license and run the simulator) on my office desktop - an HP PC running Windows 10. I am trying to generate a companion license for my home computer by opening the window "Generate Companion/Temporary Check-out Licenses". However, every time the hostid in the generated license file points to my primary computer, not the companion ID specified on the web page.
