Why does the Transceiver Toolkit hang when I try and use it with the stand-alone Quartus Prime Programmer and Tools software version 15.1.2 and earlier?

Description

The Transceiver Toolkit hangs when you try and use it with the stand-alone Quartus® Prime Programmer and Tools software version 15.1.2 and earlier. This is because the stand-alone Quartus Prime Programmer and Tools installation does not include the device database.

Resolution

To work around this problem you must use a full Quartus Prime installation when using the Transceiver Toolkit.

Quartus Prime software version 16.0 and later will remove Transceiver Toolkit support in the stand-alone Quartus Prime Programmer and Tools installation.
