Why does the Signal Tap Hierarchy Browser window gets stuck in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro software version 19.2

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 19.2, the use of the hierarchy browser window in Signal Tap may result in the program blinking in between two windows indefinitely.

Resolution

To work around this problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 19.2, follow the steps below:                 

1. Do not use the Hierarchy Browser Window in SignalTap
2. Instead search for nodes by exact match on name by looking at the netlist.

This problem is fixed beginning with version 19.3 of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software.
