Why does the Quartus II software version 15.0 web edition installer issue an error when trying to add a device?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 15.0 web edition device installer, you may see the following error when you try to add a device.

There has been an error.
Unknown element arria10_part1
The application will exit now.

Resolution

To work around this problem, download and install patch 0.01we from the links below. You must install the Quartus II software version 15.0 web edition before installing this patch.  After installingthe patch, run the device installer once again to correctly install the devices.
