Why does the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software crash at the Timing Analysis stage without any message?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.4 and earlier, you may see the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software GUI crashes without any message at the Timing Analysis stage. The problem occurs when the Design Assistant rules RDC-50001 and RDC-50002 are enabled.

Resolution

To work around this problem, follow the steps below:

1. Click Assignments > Settings
2. Choose Design Assistant Rule Settings, uncheck RDC-50001 and RDC-50002
3. Re-run the Timing Analysis stage.

This problem has been fixed from the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software Version 23.1.
