Why do the Altera FP Matrix Mult, Altera FP Matrix Invert, and Random Number Generator IPs fail to generate?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime software version 16.1 Update 2 and earlier, you may see the Altera FP Matrix Mult, Altera FP Matrix Invert, and Random Number Generator IPs fail to generate. 

Resolution

To work around this problem, for Quartus Prime software version 16.1 Update 2, download and install patch 2.03 from the links below. You must install the Quartus Prime software version 16.1 Update 2 before installing this patch.

• Download the version 16.1.2 patch 2.03 for Windows (.exe)
• Download the version 16.1.2 patch 2.03 for Linux (.run)
• Download the Readme for the Quartus Prime software version 16.1.2 patch 2.03 (.txt)

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus Prime software.
