Why do my tar packages fail to unpack successfully?

Description

For the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.1 and later, the downloads are created using tar v1.2.7, but not all archiving tools are compatible with this version. For tar packages that are larger than 4GB, you may see the following errors:

ERRORS:
Headers Error

WARNINGS:
There are data after the end of the archive

Resolution

To unpack this tar file successfully, use WinZip* or WinRAR* on Windows or tar on Linux.

Future releases of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software are scheduled to be compatible with all standard archiving tools.
