Why do I encounter a “PTC Error” message when importing a .ptc file into the FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator?

Description

Due to a problem in FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator in Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.4, the PTC Error shown below may be prompted when importing a .ptc file and:

1.       Agilex™ 5 Series device is selected

2.       HPS settings are available in the .ptc file and need to be imported

Resolution

To launch the PTC without this error, do the following:

1.       Open up the .ptc file

2.       Remove the cpu_group section from the .ptc file

3.       Save the modified .ptc file

4.       Import the modified .ptc file into the PTC

5.       Go to the HPS page and add the HPS settings manually

This problem is fixed starting from Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.1
