Why can't I generate the DisplayPort Design Example?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 17.1, you can see the following error message if the simulation box is checked in the DisplayPort Example Design tab in the DisplayPort Intel FPGA IP Catalog on Windows* OS.

Error: error renaming "C:/Users/xxx/AppData/Local/Temp/xxxx.dir/0002_dp_0_gen/simulation/ncsim.sh" to "C:/Users/xxx/AppData/Local/Temp/xxx.dir/0002_dp_0_gen/simulation/cadence/ncsim.sh": no such file or directory

Error: Failed to generate example design.

Resolution

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel Quartus Prime Pro Edition software version 17.1 Update 2
