Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 11.0 SP1 and later, you may see this error if you have the option Resource Aware Inference For Block RAM turned on.

Resolution

To work around this problem, turn off the option forResource Aware Inference For Block RAM by following these steps:

1. On the Quartus II Assignments menu, select Settings.
2. In Settings dialog box, select the category Analysis & Synthesis Settings.
3. Click More Settings.
4. Select the option Resource Aware Inference For Block RAM and change the setting to Off.

The problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0.
