How can I re-host my DS 5 AE License?

Description

DS-5 Altera Edition licenses are  'FIXED' and node-locked. If  you need to transfer your license to a new machine, you must ask ARM to do the 're-host'. 

However you can also setup your license so its more portable.

Resolution

To rehost your license follow the steps below:

1. Consult the following FAQ: ka3660
2. Go to:  silver.arm.com/licensing/ and select ‘Request License Rehost’.
3. Work directly with ARM to get a new license.

You may want to consider making the new license portable.   You could lock it to a portable USB-ethernet adapter or portable PCMCIA network card as permitted under the licensing terms and conditions documented in FLEXnet for ARM Tools License Management Guide .
