Error: An unexpected error occurred during Generate: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: altera_merlin_router: no such parameter: PKT_TRANS_WRITE

Description

You may see this error in the Quartus® II software version 11.1 and later when Qsys generates HDL files. This error occurs if your Windows operating system has the environment variable set to an earlier version of  the Quartus II software.

Resolution

To avoid this error, unset the environment variable in your Windows operating system.
