Description

In the Quartus® II software version 11.1 and later, this error may be seen when running quartus_eda from the command line and using the option --maintain_design_hierarchy.

Resolution

To work around this error, specify either on or off to the --maintain_design_hierarchy option when running the quartus_eda command. For example

quartus_eda --maintain_design_hierarchy=on ...
