Error (184057): Fitter cannot read the .mif db/<name>.mif

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II Software version 12.1 and later, you may see this error message when you have multiple revisions in your design. The Quartus II software incorrectly deletes the incompatible databases when a new revision is selected and you will see a message that the Memory Initialization File (.mif) is missing during fitting.

Resolution

To work around this problem, do the following:

1. Delete the db and incremental_db folders
2. Open the main revision
3. Switch to the desired revision and compile

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
