Attempted to access JTAG -- internal error code 82 occurred

Description

You may receive the following error "Attempted to access JTAG -- internal error code 82 occurred" when trying to access the Quartus® II programmer only software. This can be caused by a missing DLL file in the Quartus II software bin or bin64 folder.

Resolution

To correct this issue download the required DLL files from this link and add it to your bin or bin64 folder (bin folder will be for 32-bit versions of the Quartus II software and bin64 for the 64-bit version).

Once you have placed the DLL files into the appropriate folder open a DOS command prompt and type in jtagserver --install.

To confirm that the jtagserver was installed correctly you can run the jtagserver --status command.
