Recommendations for a USB Blaster cable that has worked with Quartus on W 10

Hi

Quartus Prime Lite is officially not ready for Windows 10 but I was fine using it that way until trying JTAG communications with a USB Blaster clone from Waveshare. Does anyone have a recommendation on a USB Blaster cable that has worked in a Windows 10 - Quartus Prime LIte environment for them? I have seem some posts on development boards with built in blasters working with Quartus - Windows 10. Would it be less problems and easier to get things to work right just to run things under Linux for the time being?

If there are any suggestions or questions please let me know.

According to the WaveShare site, their clone uses an FT245. If you use FTDIs FT_PROG tool to look at its USB info, I'm pretty sure it will read-out identical to a USB-Blaster. I doubt that the issue is related to the clone, it is more likely due to the use of Windows 10. If you look on the Altera site, they do not support Windows 10:

You could file an Altera Service Request and ask them when Windows 10 will be supported.

    Cheers,

Other posts on the forum say Quartus 16.0 will support windows 10. I don't remember for sure, but I think it was due out in late June.

Quartus 16.0 will support Windows 10 and should be out in Early May.

Thanks for your replies. I seemed to have gotten things to work by moving to installing Linux as alternate operating system and running Quartus Prime Lite on that.

Another ?. Should I be able to use the SignalTap Logic Analyser with a USB Blaster clone on a MAX V? I keep getting a message that the devise does not support the analyser function.
