Quartus 16.0 stopped functioning after Windows update

A major Windows update was performed after which I get

the message 'Quartus is not responding'. I reinstalled

Quartus (version 16.0.0.211) to no avail. Uninstalling

the recent Windows updates (except for KB3176936

which could not be installed) did not help either. The

strange thing is that the same update (taking a long time)

was performed on my lap top and Quartus still works

fine on that machine.

Any other people having this experience - and hopefully

solved it?
