Waiting for target...

Hello all,

I am new to Nios processor and to embedded designing. I am comfortable with FPGA designing.

I have configured Nios development kit containing Cyclone-EP1c20F400C7 FPGA with a nios processor. The hardware image has been successfully loaded to the FPGA. But I am not able to download the software image to the FPGA. I am using Nios SDK for downloading the software image. I have connected the board through the JTAG interface. I have also connected to the board via the serial interface on COM2. I am using the command:

nios-run -r -p com2 hello_nios.srec

I am only seeing "Waiting for target......................"

Even upon pressing CPU reset on the board, I am not able to see any progress or change in status. Can someone please suggest what may be the issue.
