unconnected output pins

I am supporting a legacy design using a EP1K10TC100-1N. Presently all the pins are being used. The customer wants to delete a diagnostic function where the PLD was using 7 pins to drive a buffer which was then used to drive LED's. The customer would like to delete the buffer and LED's which will leave the PLD pins unconnected. Also, they do not want to change the PLD code to alter the configuration of these pins. The pins will still output whatever diagnostic signals they were in the past, they just won't go anywhere. I assume there will not be a problem allowing these pins to be not connected in the product. Is this a valid assumption?
