Apparently there used to be a piece of software that you could download and setup to get JTAG access to an Altera device without installing the full set of tools.
I think it would be great to have this tool made available once again as it is no longer hosted on the ftp site. If anyone happens to have this tool tucked away someplace I would be interested to see if it still works with recent releases. Does anyone know of other ways to get a minimum set of tools installed (Windows or Linux) for team members to update hardware without going through the 3GB download process?1 Reply
Altera_ForumFrom the Website, you just need to download the "Programming Software" instead of the full web or subscription editions.
