Honored ContributorYou will need x-y-z sensor to loacte the ball then a stepper motor to follow the x-y-z. Straighforward in concept. Hard to implement. If you are thinking of fpga based design then fpga can receive sensor info and pass pulses to stepper motors.

block diagram of our project is like this camera ------ video processing on fpga ...... stepper moto through video processing we will find the tenis ball from its colour ,,,then its will tarack............... thanks..........Honored ContributorIf its a fixed camera overlooking the tennis court, you can easily find it by taking a reference image and then differencing it with the live image. This will show up the players and the ball. Then you could find the ball using colour.
