Sily question: What is the maximum external clock for DE2 altera kit?

Can I try a very higher clock on DE2 board?

    You can refer to clock tree performance specification in the Cyclone II device manual. Maximum input frequency for the external clock input is somewhere around 400 MHz.

    shikataleonardo: around 500MHz. I'm doing project about DSP on DE2-115

    FvM: Thank you. I saw on my Cyclone IV device manual and it says that 472.5 Mhz is the maximum for the cyclone IV. But can I really use that clock on DE2-115 board? I just wonder if other components may get some heating problems.
