Honored ContributorWhat exactly do you want is a hardware output which triggers the physical reset input signal, or simply return to the main() routine ?
There is advantages and drawbacks on each approach, therefore you should assess which one meet your need. Anyway, Nios2 already provide an API for that: https://www.altera.com/support/support-resources/knowledge-base/solutions/rd05062005_584.html
