Multi Touch LCD Interface with Altera DE2

I am trying to use the Terasic Multi Touch LCD display with an Altera DE2 board in Quartus II 11.0 and the Altera Monitor program. There was a previous thread on this but it was not very informative.

There is almost no documentation of the display; of the 2 programs provided, one doesn't work and both are cryptic and difficult to understand. Is there any resource similar to the documentation for the other IP cores?

At the very least, I need some direction on how to draw simple shapes on the screen and read simple one touch input. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
