Help with DE2 audio codec

Hi,

I am a new user of Altera DE2. I am working on a project where i need to develop some tones at different frequencies and volumes using the audio codec for DE2. I am not sure where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction. I am using NIOS to write the code. Any sample codes are appreciated.

    maybe DSP is a good choice...i incline to use the hardware to solve the problem,because of the different frequencies, NCO is ok. Nios...you wanna use C to realize it?
