HELP! interfacing Altera DE1 board with CRO and Function generator

i have dumped a file into the fpga on the de1 board using the quartus ii tool.

the file is for an fir filter project. now, i am reqd to give an input signal to the de1 board through a function generator and check the output on a cro.

i have just been told to use the mic and line out terminals. i have also heard that we i would have to write a program which should include interfacing pins of de1 board. i don't know how to do it.

help is needed !:)
