Fetching digital signal from ADC to DE2 board

Hello,

I am working on the project "Design of ECG system, DSP module in FPGA". I use the DE2 board. The ECG signal after amplified and ADC becomes the 16-bit digital signal. Where should I fetch that 16-bit digital signal into the DE2 board? Where should I save the 16-bit data? How could I read the data and display the waveform of ECG signal on the VGA monitor which is connected to the DE2 board via VGA port?
