EPC2 & EP20K Configuration

We have a couple of legacy designs using 20K400 devices and are now having more and more configuration problems from EPC2 serial EEproms. Before going too deep on our finding's so far, is there anyone out there with similar problems? We are begining to suspect the 20K400 part itself.
