Downloading elf for the Control Panel to DE2 Dev board Failed

That would depend on what version of Quartus you're using. On my Quartus 12.1, none of the control panels work. On my friends Quartus 9.0, it does.

Thinking about it, maybe the drivers supplied with the various versions of Quartus are different...... I shall experiment with this some time in the future unless someone does it before me.
