Difficulty with MICIN (audio codec)

I am using MICIN as input to audio codec in DE1 ...

For now i beliieve that micin is mono input but it gets divided to two adc and hence we get the same data bits twice ..one from left adc other from right adc...this increases file size twice..so we have to code accordingly and get bits only from one channel for further processing.Am I right ??

Any help will be heartly appreciated.
