Hi I have built a board with this device in. I am trying to produce a programming file for it using QuartusII web edition 10 sp1. Is this possible? i keep getting an error message indicating that this device has only advance support.

10.0sp1 shows B262, i think that's the problem. try 10.1sp1 or 11.0

my QII 10.1sp1 is listed as B197. i think you may have 10.0sp1

there shouldn't be any limitations with Cyclone families in Web Edition. there must be a bug

Actually any Cyclone4GX device bigger than EP4DGX15 is listed as Advanced. Does this mean I need to get a full subscription license? Or should I just reinstall QuartusII?

Pretty well sure, yes, When I do Help > About I get QuartusII Version 10 Buld 262 08/18/2010 SJ Web Edition and Service Pack Installed: 1.

are you sure you have 10.1sp1? that device is not listed as Advanced in the Release Notes:

So what are the implications of the (advanced) on the device selector? Is there an update I can download? Can I do something on QuartusII to make it generate a programming file for me? What do I do now?

i am using QII 10.1sp1 Subscription Edition on Windows and i can generate a programming file for the EP4CGX110CF23C8
if you go to the Device selector window is there an (Advanced) listed next to your part?
