Cyclone III programmer n external memory

Hi everyone here,

I have started to work with FPGA with beginner knowledge.

I have some question regarding EP3C series.

Can Ep3c25 series be programmed/ configured by using ByteBlaster (NOT Byteblastee II) ?

For NIOS software Application files, do I need seperate CFI flash memory OR it can be reside in EPCS flash memory device along with FPGA's configuration file?

I mean can both NIOS Software Application files and hardware configuration files reside in the same memory?
